Spiritual Renewal Groups

The Spiritual Renewal Groups meet at various times throughout the week. These groups have a deep commitment to regular participation. Each meeting begins with personal sharing of each person’s life situation. This is followed by a discussion of the given book assignment for that session with an emphasis, not upon what members think about the book, but upon what the book suggests to them in their person faith journey. Books include both historical classics and contemporary books on spirituality. Each meeting ends with a time of shared prayer.

Gender specific groups are open to anyone who self identifies as that gender.

The current spiritual renewal groups are:

Spiritual Renewal Group 1

First and third Mondays at 7 p.m. on Zoom

This small group meets the first and third Monday of the month at 7 PM via Zoom. On Monday evening, March 6, we will begin reading Freeing Jesus by Diane Butler Bass. We will be discussing the first chapter – “Friend”! On March 20, we will discuss
Chapter 2, “Teacher”. If this is something that might be of interest, we invite you to join us. Questions?  For questions and Zoom info please contact Bill Hausler, hhausler@tds.net, 608-231-2890.

Spiritual Renewal Group 2

Second and fourth Tuesdays at 4 p.m. on Zoom

We pick a spiritual book and discuss it.  Our goal is to grow in our spiritual journey, so we only pick books that help us to grow.  We have become a support group as well.  We endeavor to not tell what each other says to the general public and no one is wrong.  We don’t try and convince each other that we are right.  Also, we do not discuss church business when we meet.  We get along very well because of the policy of the group.

For questions and Zoom info please contact the church office, fbcoffice@firstbaptistmadison.org.
