Preparing a meal for the homeless
First Baptist partners with a wide variety of organizations as part of its outreach to the community and to the larger world. Some of this partnering includes direct involvement, such as preparing meals for the homeless, delivering meals to the elderly, serving as mentors and counselors to those making the transition to a more stable life, serving on boards, committees, and taskforces. Some of this partnering involves financial support.
Among our ecumenical partners are:
- Porchlight, which provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, and support services to the homeless
- Road Home Dane County, which serves homeless families with children
- Housing Ministries of American Baptists in Wisconsin, which is a ministry to low income communities in Madison and Milwaukee
- The Crossing Campus Ministry, an ecumenical ministry on the UW-Madison campus
- American Baptist Home Mission Society, which ministers as the caring heart and serving hands of Jesus across the U.S.
- International Ministries, which supports American Baptist missionaries world-wide
- Missionary Partnership Network for Judy Sutterlin, an ABC missionary in China, and a former member of First Baptist
