Hourglass Bible Study

Curious about the Bible but unable to commit to study on your own? If so, the Hourglass Bible study may be just right for you. No reading is required before the class; instead, we read the scripture together one week and share our reflections on that passage the next week. It’s an opportunity to work scripture into your everyday life and to benefit from the varied and honest reactions of others in the class.

Current Topic

After we finish reading the first book of Psalms on September 8, the Hourglass Bible study will turn our attention for six weeks to an Old Testament prophet who deserves our attention: Micah. Then we will return to the New Testament, reading the letters to Timothy and the Ephesians, reflecting on the importance of Ephesus to early Christianity. Since Ephesus was visited by Paul, inhabited by the Apostle John, and served by the pastor Timothy, it presents a unique focus for understanding the breadth and depth of early Christian theology.
