In addition to the two Sunday School classes (see below) the youth gather for various activities inside and outside the church.  Activities are at times simply social and fun, sometimes they are service oriented and sometimes they are fundraisers for the youth mission trip or for Camp Tamarack.

Youth Sunday School is from 9:30  to 10:30 am between Memorial Day and Labor Day and includes:

Middle School

The Middle High Sunday school class, grades 6 – 8, explores the interconnection of personal faith, cooperative community and eternal life questions. In an intentionally open format, kids are encouraged to challenge their assumptions and expectations regarding religion.

Is there baseball in heaven? If not, what IS the nature of heaven? Will my pets be there? Why do bad things happen to the innocent? Isn’t money the root of all evil? Does God really care about the outcome of football games? Does God intercede in my life when I pray? Would Jesus be a Democrat or a Republican? How would you know?

Finding guidance in both Jesus’s life and the concept of soul freedom, we use a bible based approach and historical context to seek answers to those very questions. Collective service projects add some fun to the mix, as well as the key elements of discernment and tangible, productive action as a group to the class.

High School

Youth in grades 9 – 12 with a dedicated adult volunteer to share their life together.  They talk and share stories from their week.  They address the questions of faith and life that develop in their life.
