We regret that this year we again have to adapt our annual Peace Camp to a Non-Face-to-Face model. Regardless, the Peace Camp Anti-Racism Kit is designed to offer families activities to facilitate talk about race and its connection to peace. We will use the words of Ibram Kendi, in his book, Anti Racist Baby and those of Megan Madison, Jessica Ralli and Isabel Roxas in the book, Our Skin: A First Conversation About Race, to guide the conversation. The kit will include materials for four days of exploration and projects to extend learning.

We’ve seen the news of death and brutality, white supremacy and senseless acts of violence. (Taken from FBC Statement on Racial Justice, June 2020). Whether we realize it or not, our children witness these injustices and draw their own conclusions. What is it we want them to gather from these times, how can we empower them to continue as makers of peace and truly make a difference? It is vital that we increase our understanding and renew our efforts to stand with those that are suffering. We hope you can join us for this year’s Peace Camp!
